Hello. My name is Father Touzeau, and I would like to introduce myself as your new Pastor of Sacred Heart and St. Augustine.
Here is a little information about me. I am a native-born South Carolinian. I was born in Pickens, located in the Upstate of South Carolina. I grew up a cradle Catholic. I grew up only 20 minutes from Clemson and so it was natural that I was a fan and I attended Clemson and graduated with a degree in Financial Management. I worked in the lumber business in the Upstate for some 15 years or so. I next took a job at my home parish of Holy Cross as a pastoral assistant and youth minister. After a year, I moved on to work at St. Joseph Catholic School in Greenville as the Dean of Student Life. I served in that position for 4 years and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
It was while I was at St. Joseph that I finally answered God’s call for me to discern the priesthood. I was accepted and I entered into formation at St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston, Texas.
I was ordained to the priesthood on June 7, 2019, and my first assignment was to serve as Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbia. I also helped out a couple of days a week at Cardinal Newman celebrating Mass and hearing confessions.
My next assignment was as Administrator of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom in Georgetown. I have served here for the past 2 ½ years.
I am truly looking forward to serving you to the best of my ability with the gifts God has given me.
