Knights of Columbus

Council 12995

Our History and Heritage

Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families.

Knights of Columbus Founding Principals and Core Values on the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism

Today, these principles serve as the foundation of our Core Values:

  • Integrity: Firm adherence to ethics, honesty, and a moral code.
  • Professionalism: Promoting the highest standards in all we do.
  • Excellence: Leading by example and constantly striving to be the best.
  • Respect: Treating each other with the highest regard.

This Code of Ethics and Conduct demonstrates how our Core Values guide us in situations that we may encounter.

Respecting Our Duties Our role

All personnel, no matter what their role, are expected to:

  • Uphold our Core Values by always acting with Integrity. Always be honest and ethical in everything you do on behalf of the Order.

  • Treat others with the utmost Respect.
  • Be accountable for your actions. Violating our Code is grounds for corrective action, up to and including termination.

PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION

We are men who lead, serve, protect and defend, whether we are giving out Coats for Kids, lending a hand in disaster relief efforts, supporting local pregnancy centers by donating ultrasound machines or providing top-quality financial products.

KOC Pasta Dinner - October 13, 2022

‘The Long Haul’,  Knights of Columbus Charity Convoys bring care packages and essential supplies to Ukrainians displaced by war.

The  final tally of Sacred Heart Parish Council 12995 Ukrainian Relief efforts was a grand total of $1902.00. For a small parish, this is fantastic. Thank you to all for helping out with this effort.

As the situation in Ukraine continues to change, the need to support refugees continues to grow. The Knights of Columbus continue to work with our councils in Poland and Ukraine, the Latin and Greek Catholic Churches, and partner NGOs to provide temporary shelter, food, medical supplies, clothing, religious supplies, and other humanitarian needs as identified as the situation continues to change.

100% of your donation goes directly to support those effected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

To support the Order’s humanitarian relief efforts, visit kofc.org/ukraine or contact any KOC member at Sacred Heart Parish.
